New PS2 games

I’ve just finished testing out a few new PS2 both English and Japanese:

Tales of Legendia. Although the version I played was the Japanese version that recently came out this should be released in the West after christmas and I look forward to once more play a Tales Of game because they are brilliant in gameplay and storyline. I decided to play this one to find out how the game played out even thought I wouldn’t understand the story. The game has some really nice graphics and the characters look really good with a old school SD look. The battle system is also brilliant and I look forward to playing this game once it comes out in English.

Cowboy Bebop. Finally a Cowboy Bebop game comes out, based on the popular anime series. The game is a action adventure game that is okay to try out but I doubt I’d be willing to give it enough of my time to play it through. The version I played was in Japanese so I could understand the story but the graphics looked kind of sub par and the controls were kind of confusing but I think I’ll give it a go again when it comes out in English.

Heavy Metal Thunder. I just wanted to try this game out because I couldn’t find any info about it on the net. The game plays like watching an anime episode, it skips between video scenes and fighting scenes. The game starrs some seriously freaky characters that take part in a mini robot fighting tournament were they control robots that fight against one another in an arena via the means of rock and roll music…. Most defiantly the weirdest game I’ve played in recent years.

The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. When I first heard a this game I was reluctant to try it out since I just thought, “weeeh another lame super hero game”. But man was I wrong, the game is really fun and you stump along as the Hulk and wreck havoc and destruction. The game really captures the essence of what being the hulk really feels like and it’s really fun. I’m defiantly devoting some time to this one once I can.

OPM Demo Disc – Issue 97 – October 2005. I decided to grab a copy of the Official US Playstation Magazine because it contained a copy of the Shadow of Colossus. The demo disc contained the following demoes:
- One Piece - One Piece is a really stupid anime fighting game based on an uninteresting anime series. The game contains some really bad graphics and boring gameplay, I’m staying far away from this game.
- La Rush - A lame racing game trying to be NFSU but failing miserably and the graphics are really jaggy and bad.
- The Suffering: Ties that bind - I haven’t played the first game but decided to try out this demo anyway just for the heck of it. The game is seriously scary, has some good graphics and I’d like to play it and the first game if I ever have the time.
- Breakout Revenge - The newest game in the Breakout series of games, the graphics look wonderful and the gameplay is as fun as the previous versions.
- Legend of Kay - Good looking action RPG / Platformer sort of childish but enjoyable, might play through this one.
- Shadow of Colossus - Stunning graphics, realistic controls, interesting gameplay. Can’t wait for this game to be released.

  1. I am a big Hulk fan. I really like his attitude and the way he destroys things. Although I have not played the game yet, that PS2 game will definitely be a hit. I can’t wait to have a copy and start another adventure.
